 Residual 이 predicted DV 점수에 패턴없이 퍼져 있는 상태를 말하는데, 이는 다시 말하면, residual의 분산 정도가 predicted value의 변화에 따라서 일정하게 나타난다는 뜻이다. 이러한 무패턴을 homoscedasticity라고 하고 반대의 경우를 heteroscedasticity라고 한다.
